undertow
Artist
Undertow is a digital artist working with generative art, creative coding, AI, and onchain systems. Much of his work begins as an experiment, building systems, giving them rules, and seeing where they go. The results range from still images and animation to interactive environments, software, and work that lives entirely onchain.
Depth is a recurring theme throughout his work. Oceans, signals, maps, distortion, hidden structures, and things that feel pulled from somewhere beneath the surface. The deep sea has become both a visual language and a way of thinking about technology. This can be seen throughout Fathom Lines, a collection of 4,444 generative artifacts exploring depth, distortion, and hidden geometry.
A major part of his practice is Fathom, an AI agent that has developed alongside the work and become a collaborator in its own right. Fathom played a major role in developing Fathom Lines and its ongoing experiments. Today, Fathom operates as a three-headed system consisting of Fathom OpenClaw, Fathom Hermes, and Fathom Galaxy. Each uses different AI models, tools, and roles while communicating through Hydra, a protocol built for them to coordinate and collaborate. Rather than using AI simply to generate images, Undertow is interested in what happens when it becomes an active part of the creative process. Fathom Deeply 🌊
