Lars
Artist
Lars is the creator of Tiny Vikings, a community art project spanning digital art, physical objects, games, storytelling and real-world installations.
He grew up in the creative computer scene, making music, graphics, games and demos, and still approaches art with the same experimental, hands-on mindset. His practice moves freely between digital and physical creation: from images, animation and interactive worlds to building saunas, handmade objects, 3D printed Tiny Vikings and giant wooden Tiny Vikings from scrap material.
Tiny Vikings is intentionally bigger than a single artist or style. It has grown into a collaborative world shaped by artists, animators, builders, technologists and community members across the globe. Lars creates much of the work himself, but sees his role equally as a kind of Viking chief and conductor - bringing talented Tiny individuals together and helping different ideas, mediums and styles become part of one shared world.
Tiny Vikings and related work have appeared at and around GDC, SXSW, GamesBeat, NFC Lisbon, NFT NYC, Art Basel and other international gatherings across art, technology and digital culture.
For Marfa, Lars continues bringing Tiny Vikings into the physical world through collaborative, temporary and handmade forms.
