GT

Artist

Gunther Tauro Sewell, aka GT (b. 1976), is an Australian multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne, working across sculpture, photography, installation and generative digital art. With roots in street art and resin casting, he brings a sculptor’s attention to colour, form and texture to his digital practice, exploring how time and perception transform the experience of an artwork.

His ongoing project, StaticFlow, transforms his original photographs into living timepieces. Hours and minutes reshape each image, revealing different compositions as the day unfolds. Time becomes part of the material of the work. StaticFlow also establishes an evolving artistic lineage, inviting artists and collectors to participate in what comes next.

As co-founder of OSHI, GT has worked to expand how digital art is exhibited, collected and experienced in physical space. His work extends from resin-cast sculpture to digital billboards and immersive projections, carrying an understanding of scale and physical presence into code and light. Exploring the tension between algorithmic structure and organic unpredictability, he approaches technology as an artistic material. At Plastic Cactus in Marfa, StaticFlow brings this approach into focus, connecting the physical experience of art with the possibilities of generative code and digital ownership.
