Chumwizards
Artist
Chumwizards, aka Nick Demus, is a California native visual artists that works with both traditional and digital mediums. He was drawn to the world of art by animation. This fascination lead to formal education in animation and media arts which he continues to draw on to use different tools and techniques to achieve his goals.
Raised by parents that encouraged both disciple and creativity, Chumwizards practice is inspired by the phrase "think outside the box". His ongoing series, Live Outside the Box, is a surreal visual diary of the journey to build a career beyond the traditional 9-5pm path.
That out of the box mentality also extends to Chumwizards' outlook on the art world at large. Working with the Twisted Tweak community as editor, he helps produce the Tweak Zine, a weekly digital magazine dedicated to highlighting artists taking new approaches to building their own art careers. Over the course of the past year, they have highlighted hundreds of artists and partnered with other communities to promote art for social impact.
